It’s been a great year for the University of Tulsa student chapter of Engineering Without Borders. We have been working on a design for a device that will be used to save thousands of volunteer hours at The Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma by automating a food product transfer process.
Our greatest accomplishment over this past year has been in our international community of Cotani, Bolivia. Over the course of just a few years we’ve managed to create a solar heat exchanger for community showers used by families in Cotani than can be built using local materials and knowledge the community now has. The community now has heated water for cleaning and bathing. We also educated the local community on general health and safety knowledge. This year we’re planning on enhancing the town’s water distribution system to improve the longevity of the system and add additional homes to the current lines.
All this work would be impossible without the generous support from our donors, and once again it is time for our year end fundraising campaign. In order to accomplish our goals in Bolivia for the upcoming summer we will need to raise at least $50,000 for materials, labor, and travel expenses. While this goal may be quite large, every donation helps, and EWB-USA will be matching all donations that come in starting December 2nd. The sooner you donate the better, as last year the matching funds ran out on the second day of the campaign. We would like to request your support of our students and their ongoing projects to improve lives.
Engineers Without Borders is a 501(c)(3) organization; your donations are tax-deductible. Please consider partnering with us. Your contribution WILL make a difference!
